Vandal raid at the Avellino bus station, caught by cameras

Order date:
April 23 2024

Another act of vandalism inside the Avellino bus station. Three cameras were torn up and damaged: two were positioned on the roof, one serving the stairs leading to the garages. The latter immortalized the protagonists, three individuals who, regardless of being filmed, managed to put the camera out of action. It is yet to be understood whether the damage to the cameras on the roof was also the work of the same hand. The company, in possession of the video sequences documenting the entire raid, has instructed the legal department to file a complaint with the competent authorities.
This is not the first criminal act committed against the public structure. In recent months, several raids involving the facility have been reported. For this reason AIR Campania has intensified its efforts by strengthening the video surveillance system, which now has over 100 cameras.
Furthermore, the regional company is engaged in the first step of the digitalization project. After the installation of the digital screens inside the bus station, the cabling is being completed to connect the monitors to the 24 stalls, which will then be connected to the bus monitoring system and the smart poles.
