Acts of vandalism against AIR Campania, at Caserta table in the Prefecture

Order date:
March 26 2024

The institutional roundtable on "Safety in the TPL sector" requested by the governance of AIR Campania following the numerous acts of vandalism committed in recent months against the local regional public transport company was held at the offices of the Prefecture of Caserta.

During the meeting, the representatives of AIR Campania highlighted strong concerns regarding the safety of passengers, drivers and the vehicles themselves, due to the repeated raids recorded in the recent period in the Caserta area.

Since January 5, there have been incidents of stone throwing at buses on the Aversa-Mondragone route, as well as an attempted attack on an operator and a traveler on the same route.

But last weekend, the Teverola depot also ended up in the sights of vandals, where unknown persons stole cash and tickets.

At the table, where it was reiterated that public safety is a fundamental priority and therefore the utmost attention was confirmed, the clear will emerged on the part of the authorities and the actors involved to tackle the problem in a determined and coordinated way through maximum collaboration between the stakeholders.
