2023 was a record-breaking year for the Funicular of Montevergine. With 54.126 travellers, the ski lift operated by AIR Campania, among the steepest in Europe and which connects Mercogliano to the top of Monte Partenio in 7 minutes, has also exceeded pre-pandemic data (46.295 travelers in 2019).

After the years conditioned by the health emergency, with 2020 recording the lowest peak of passengers (25.471), the last three years have been characterized by a constant increase in the flow of travelers on board for a total of over 116 thousand attendance.

The strengthening and valorisation plan adopted by the corporate governance highlights a decidedly positive trend from 2021, as confirmed by the data from the traffic product office of the regional company on attendance on board the funicular that connects the municipality of Mercogliano to Montevergine.

From 25.706 travelers in 2021 we went to 36.275 in 2022, up to the boom in 2023 with 54.126 passengers. Record attendance also on Candlemas Day: 1.683 passengers reached the summit with the AIR Campania system, approximately 40% more than the 1.200 of the previous year.
