New appeal to the institutions. The company is considering canceling the line

New vandalism raid against buses AIR Campania. In the sights of the thugs this time a vehicle in service on the Naples-Mondragone line.

The latest ambush yesterday evening: a heavy stone-throwing attack on the moving vehicle shattered a window and blew out the rear-view mirror. Fortunately there were no passengers on board. The driver, who remained unharmed, managed to stop the vehicle safely and alert the police.

The events recorded in recent months have all occurred on the routes that pass through Aversa and lead to Castel Volturno and Mondragone.

To date, five buses have been targeted by vandals. In addition to the economic damage caused by the repairs, there is also the inconvenience caused to users due to the stoppage of the vehicles put out of use.

After the raids recorded in January and yet another attack on a driver on the same line, in recent days AIR Campania sent a note to the Prefect of Caserta urging more frequent checks by the police in the areas considered at risk.

«These criminals jeopardize the safety of travelers and drivers, as well as the risk of frustrating the efforts made to guarantee a widespread service. A consultation table is needed as soon as possible to identify measures to combat these continuous episodes of violence", said the administrator Anthony Acconcia.

In the meantime, to ensure the safety of passengers and employees, the company is considering making changes to the bus routes, which will cause additional inconvenience and difficulties for users who depend on public transport to reach their daily destinations. The offices are also examining the possibility of canceling, in agreement with the Region, the line to Mondragone, for safety reasons.
